Inspiration

Modern financial research is fractured. Traditional databases and analytics platforms force users to switch across numerous bloated, fragmented tools all good at one thing and bad at the next. As high school students, we found profound interest in the demanding world of finance and particularly equity markets. We wanted to build something radically superior, a intelligence engine built for data density and validity. The goal was simple: consolidate every relevant metric any investor or quant could possibly need; any strategy and any desk, anyone can use it. Turning the terminal into a ultra-responsive, fact-driven analytics platform for anyone: from retail to Wall Street!

What it does

Singularity View is an institutional-grade financial intelligence portal that packs ninety specialized screens into a single-keystroke command interface. It allows any users instant access to an immense vault of deep market data and analytics, including but not limiting SEC filings, historical price series and options chains for assets from over 30 nations. The terminal allows any user of any financial integrity to deliberate and debate to get the best possible analysis for free. It provides all this data for free with emphasis on data transparency, eliminating friction by bringing high-density, authentic data to the aesthetic appeal and simplicity of the Singularity View Terminal.

How we built it

We engineered Singularity Terminal using a high-performance modern tech stack designed for speed, scale and smoothness. The backend utilizes Python, FastAPI, and asynchronous data pipelines to ingest, process and structure massive, heavy input financial datasets. The frontend is built with numerous tools to create a medium-density UI layout optimized for querying and seamless navigation across ninety terminal screens, with high-quality graphical animations.

Challenges we ran into

Handling and rendering such a massive volume of complex, multi-asset financial data without sacrificing performance was a true hurdle. Structuring real-time options chains, deep historical archives and dense filing required rigorous pipeline optimization, efficient caching strategies and careful component architecture to ensure zero latency and lag while switching screens. Hosting the website over both Oracle and cPanel servers required high-level of understanding of advanced terms and infrastructure, ultimately leading to a product we are truly proud of.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully architecting and deploying ninety of the specialized screen, designing and planning each screen to behave as an independent, data-dense module. Building robust pipelines capable of cleanly synchronizing massive volumes of data and facts to go to the correct screens and pipelines without data loss or mis-transfer. Crafting a sleek, high-performance interface that completely redefines the speed and depth of modern financial research. Configuring hosting services and settings to display the website accurately and maintain web stability across a wide-range of regions (Singapore, India, UAE, USA...)

What we learned

We gained deep technical insight and mastery over thorough financial data pipelines, API design and configuration and building complex, state-heavy frontend dashboards. We also learned how crucial information hierarchy and prioritization and clean UI structure are when presenting overwhelming amounts of data in a clean manner, focusing on both precision as well as accuracy.

What's next for Singularity View

Expanding real-time streaming capabilities and adding automated back-testing sandboxes (similar to TradingView and QuantConnect) Integrating advanc ed machine learning models for predictive quantitative screening. Broaden market coverage and analysis across international exchanges and emerging asset classes. Expand to bonds, alternate debt instruments and asset classes which require heavy-duty, expensive data. Integrate non-financial data (such as sector-specific alternate data) to enhance user perspective on consumer relationships and competitor analysis.
