There is a significant opportunity for platforms to help musicians show off their skills. The goal is to have singers use this filter as a tool that will give inspiration.

THE FILTER

Ideation and execution

As an individual who loves live music, I find that I have many videos with singers and musicians on my recommended pages. I love watching people perform with beautiful filters. They feel like mini-shows. It wasn't until later that we noticed that there weren't many filters for musicians. This brought up the problem; there are many singers and musicians on platforms such as reels, ut not enough catered content. As a result, we began to ideate ways for Reels to create am AR filter that can promote these small artists and give them a platform to create freely.

This filter is available to anyone that wants it. When you open the effects feature on Reels, you will be able to find this filter. When Selecting, you can find three categories. The first being "Karaoke," "Modern," then "Retro." you will find that each filter has a unique mic. Depending on your stylistic choices, you can use a specific mic. These filters are made to be used over and over again, not just once or twice. They are highly interactive and versatile. Next, each filter provides a Reverb effect that will allow your voice to carry its full effect. It is sublet in the Modern and Retro filter, but prominent in the Karaoke Filter. Lastly, each filter features a colored filter over it. The last one being the most overt, with a grey filter. This is to provide to "old school/ jazz" effect that many singers love.

We began building the filter with Spark Studio. We took Assets for sites such as Polly and Story blocks then imported them into the application. From here, we build the rest of the filter in After effects. This allowed us to create video and audio/visual effects.

Neither of us has used Spark Studio before; as a result, it was a sharp learning curve. However, since we both have experience in Code and design software, we could adapt quickly. I look forward to using this software and improving in this field, but I would have loved to see what I could have done with another week of using the software. Secondly, I apologize for my singing (lol) I am not a singer by any means, but I hope that people can embrace it no matter their skill level.

Personally, I am proud of taking steps to learn something completely outside of my comfort zone! It was a fun and new experience, and I look forward to trying something similar again!

The next steps fo this filter is to make the Microphones myself in a 3D software. I hope to use this in the future but would like to customize it further and clean up the design/audio aspect of it. Lastly, I would love to find someone that is a great singer to do a demo of all of the filters, When I do that, I will recreate the video for a fuller experience. Lastly, I regret not discovering this hackathon earlier.
