SIMplify

Inspiration

Initially, we looked online for potential challenges Singaporeans face when they are overseas. We found out that childcare is one of the most common issues in Singaporeans’ minds when they are thinking of moving back home. To better understand their problems, we surveyed overseas friends and family. They mentioned having difficulty finding familiar products and a suitable mobile plan when they are in a new country. Our survey found that 4 out of 5 users find it confusing and overwhelming when they have to navigate many websites just to find a mobile plan that serves their needs.

What it does

SIMplify (our product) helps overseas Singaporeans moving back to Singapore save time when they are looking for a mobile plan. They can do side-by-side comparison of different plans across the various telcos. Using Singpass, the signing up process is streamlined. For people looking at overseas plans, they can use the filter function to quickly find a plan which suits their needs. At the same time, the app allows them to manage multiple plans easily.

How we built it

We will build a mobile App Features of the app: Source for mobile plans in the specific countries they are in (For Singaporeans) Help to source local mobile plans (For Singaporeans coming back or expats) Manage their mobile plans on the app Virtual Sim Cards

In the current stage, we have just created our prototype by using Figma

Able to make payments for their mobile plans Manage the different mobile contracts from other countries Push Notification for the different mobile plans Apply for the different mobile plans Cancel Subscriptions Expand to fibre broadbands subscriptions(For Singaporeans or Expats who are returning/staying in Singapore long term) Able to use phone GPS to guide user to the nearest telco shop for SIM card collection.
