Simplify

Inspiration

Dealing with real world data can be cumbersome and time consuming, Simplify seeks to make this process simple and clean.

What it does

It accepts user files in CSV, TSV, JSON and parquet format as well as a prompt the user can input for additional instructions to be fed to the backend.

How we built it

Frontend: HTML and CSS. Backend: JS, Python and the Gemini API. Frameworks: Flask.

Challenges we ran into

Time constraints and Git difficulties.

The backend as well as the user friendly UI/UX.

Data cleansing and visualization principles.

Further polishing the UI/UX and increasing support for more data types.

I work on implementing Gemini where it would take a csv file, it would fix any mistake and return a dictionaries of what was the previous file type and new file type, it also return the before and after of it edit so user could see what it change and the step it take to get there

I worked on the backend. It was challenging to use it in tandem with JavaScript, but it was a great learning experience in web development practice.
