Simplifica

Many young students are often confused as to which career would be the best for them. Often this results, in them getting into fields which they don't enjoy working in. All this due to poor advice. With Simplifica, we aim to solve that problem. Simplifica asks the student a few simple questions, aimed at getting to know what the student is like as a person. Then the algorithm analyzes the data collected and comes up with a career field that would best suit that student. Also, Simplifica provides a one-stop shop solution for the students' information needs, as we have curated information pages with the relevant links, related to all career choices.

We hope that students can take a wise and informed decision with Simplifica!

Inspiration

We have gone through the phase in which we had to make a firm decision for our careers and have also seen many struggle through this phase. There are some students who fail to make the right decision and then regret for their choices. So we wanted to help the students and make this phase a bit easy for them.

How we built it

The front end was built using HTML, CSS and Bootstrap. Back end was built using Java. Spring Boot was used as the app framework. JavaScript was used to link the front end and the back end.

Challenges we ran into

We were not familiar with the back-end development, so this was a big challenge for us.

Accomplishments that we are proud of

We managed to learn back end development during the hackathon and handled lots of stuff in HTML and CSS.

What we learned

We learned to use Spring Boot framework, Java and JavaScript. Also our front-end skills were polished. Besides these technical things, we learned to use our time efficiently.

What's next for Simplifica

Due to time limitation we could only add a few fields and resources.Further we will incorporate more fields and resources. Simplifica's Career Test will also be upgraded and the number of questions will be increased with the accuracy of the algorithm.
