Inspiration

We wanted to give our fellow citizens a fair chance at getting a respectable retirement, we believe they'll have no troubles building for their financial future with the right tools at hand!

What it does

Gives you an overview of your current/predicted pensions. Gives you insights into what areas you need to flow more money into to retire comfortably. All of the information needed for this already lives at your bank or is given additionally in a very simple manner.

This assistant (or wizard, where did all the cool wizards go?) can massively decrease the amount of time personnel has to spend on educating their clients and can be evolved to make much more accurate personalized recommendations and strategies!

How we built it

We used figma for our prototyping and react + create-react-app for creating our prototype. We also have a backend server written in rust that's capable of handling authentication and heavy workloads, while also guaranteeing correct behavior thanks to rusts ecosystem.

Challenges we ran into

Coming up with the initial idea took us a long time, time management was also very hard. 1 particular issue we didn't expect being so hard was creating a donut/pie chart! Especially when trying to apply any non-trivial styles.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We worked under a time-constraint that was even more rough than usual, so we're super proud to have been able to both iterate on our protoypes in figma and be able to build out the rust SPA.

What we learned

How to make pie charts! (yay!!) Rust React Figma We learned from our mistakes and will probably use something to make managing css easier next time (tailwind?) How to let your user be the main driver behind the product, not the design itself or the code.

What's next for Simpler retirement

Styling the FE to meet the high standards of tatra bank and re-iterating on the design. Potentially a rewrite into a mobile application? Either using react native or native sdks. We chose a web-app mostly because of time constraints, but with a product like this having it available in a mobile app is a must-have. Some very vague design for the BE, mostly focused around what kind of data the product will likely require and if it's already collected in the main application or if it needs to be collected additionally.
