Inspiration
Initially I was planning to do a larger project with a couple teammates but there were a series of complications, so I needed a much simpler idea. I've been wanting to make a portfolio website and learn some frontend for a while now, and I figured this was the perfect opportunity.
What it does
My project is a simple portfolio website that gives a bit of info about me, some links, and a project page with a couple of templates (since I don't have any at the time). It also has a mobile specific dropdown menu.
How we built it
I used vanilla html, css, and a little bit of JavaScript, and referenced many tutorials and documents, especially from w3schools.
Challenges we ran into
The most challenging part was configuring the app for mobile.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This is my first time using html and css or even doing front end at all. I'm proud of myself that I was able to make what I think is a nice looking website from scratch in a short amount of time, especially considering the complications I faced regarding my previous team.
What we learned
I learned a lot about how html, css, and a bit of JavaScript work, and feel ready to jump into more front end related topics like React. I also learned how to use Figma.
What's next for Simple Portfolio Website
My portfolio will definitely be expanded in the future as I gain more experience and projects. This website will likely gain more intricate features to reflect growing skill.
