Inspiration
I was inspired by my own experience with the disease. After getting COVID-19 multiple times, I didn't want others to also have to suffer and have made this simple tool to encourage people to get tested.
What it does
It asks questions based around the symptoms of the illness to help motivate people to get tested if they feel sick.
How we built it
It was built using relatively simple java to make the program compact, yet sturdy. This is so that the program is capable of running on multiple different devices to be as accessible as possible.
Challenges we ran into
There were multiple challenges with keeping the program simple and with the research required to make it reliable, but after some hard work, the program was completed successfully.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Keeping the tool simple, accessible, and universal. I am also proud to be solving an issue that is so prevalent in the world.
What we learned
I learned many things about the disease and java during this hackathon. It also taught me to be patient and to work through my problems rather than rushing things for a half-baked project.
What's next for Simple COVID-19 Diagnosis
The program could incorporate the location and present data of COVID-19 infection and death rates to more effectively help people. This would sadly make the program less accessible, but may be worth it to help people in more densely-populated areas.
