Inspiration
Water pollution is a silent crisis — rivers and lakes are being contaminated by industrial waste, agricultural runoff, and sewage, often without immediate detection. By the time the problem is visible, the damage to ecosystems and communities is severe. We wanted to build a system that detects water contamination early and sends secure, tamper-proof alerts so the information can’t be altered or ignored.
What it does
Monitors large water bodies using satellite imagery to detect changes in color, sediment levels, or algae growth.
Integrates ground-based IoT water sensors to measure pH, turbidity, and toxin levels.
Sends quantum-encrypted alerts via QuSat to environmental agencies and local communities.
Displays a secure dashboard for tracking water quality trends.
How we built it
Data Collection: Used Sentinel-2 satellite images to identify visible changes in water color and clarity.
Ground Sensor Data Simulation: Created sample water-quality readings (pH, turbidity, toxins).
Dashboard Mockup: Designed in Figma to show a map of monitored locations with quality status indicators.
Secure Communication Flow: Illustrated how QuSat’s quantum link ensures that readings reach authorities without interception.
