Inspiration

  • Recent publications demonstrate that gas cloud from a cough or sneeze may help the virus particles travel up to ~ 3 meters.

  • Recent evidence points out that people without symptoms can also spread the coronavirus.

  • Several countries including but not limited to Italy, Austria, Germany, Czech and US are requesting people to use face masks to further prevent the spread of infection.

  • Currently there is a huge demand for face masks all around the world, however, almost all kinds of masks are not cost effective, elegant or made from sustainable materials. More importantly, several PPEs are not really effective, safe, comfortable nor can be used in public places including protective visor.

What it does

Alternative masks have proven uncomfortable (points of pressure) and dysfunctional (condensation occurs). So, novel, cost effective, scalable and elegant face/protective masks made of sustainable and non-hazardous materials are very much needed now.

How I built it

Simple and effective (SimpEctive) mask is based on novel nano technology that is incredibly simple to make and scale up. This soluation can be easily manufactured in order to be used in different ways, as it can filter out all particles within a few hundered of nanometer (nm).
