Inspiration

As a solo developer, I have build a complete project from scratch for the Build Beyond Hackathon. I created a modern web implementation of the classic Simon Says Game to master core JavaScript and DOM manipulation.

What it does

The app generates a progressively complex sequence of colors and visual signals. Players must memorize and repeat the sequence correctly to score points and advance to higher levels.

How I built it

Built using HTML5 for structure, CSS3 for custom UI design and button lighting animations, and vanilla JavaScript to handle the core game sequence generation, user event listeners, score tracking, and game-over states.

Challenges I ran into

Managing the time logic between sequences playback and user click inputs was a great learning curve, as was designing a clean visual interface independently.

What I learned

I solidified my understanding of event handling, arrays, state management, and deploying live application using GitHub Pages.

How to play ? Start the button below to start the game. Once it started a random color button will flash, after clicking the button just flashed, the level increases, wait for the random button to flash again at new level and you have to remember all the buttons which flashed from level one till the level at where you are and the level will increase as far as possible till you clicked the wrong button.
