Inspiration

We want companies to build better product. So we provide an analytic tool that allows companies to see how they compare to other agencies when customers book a trip.

What it does

Conducts automated tests for predetermined journey scenarios and plots this data on a dashboard.

How we built it

We used Google Puppeteer to simulate and collect data on how customers use each booking site. This data is uploaded to Firebase and updates a dashboard created using React in real-time.

Challenges we ran into

Each website is unique and has it own style. This makes it difficult for writing scripts. Also, how customers query trips can vary greatly (however, this is useful in its own way as a metric). Maintaining the code base could be a lot of work depending on how often agencies are changing their website.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

All of us used software we had never used before. Not only were we able to figure it out we were able to create 5.5 scripts and a dashboard in only 24 hours.

What we learned

Google Puppeteer is a powerful tool for click testing scripts.

What's next for Silver Linings

Next would be expanding the complexity of our journeys, adding new metrics to our dashboard, and including more booking sites.
