Inspiration

This application has been inspired by our friends that are always making jokes, but it's not really a joke. We decided to make it in a form of quizzes and games so that everyone can play this game with a smile on their faces.

What it does

This application mainly consists of random questions that sometimes, we haven't even thought about it. Since our life could be stressful at times, this app will share some funny jokes along the way that will surely entertain your day. Answer the questions without thinking cause the answers might be not what you are expecting. This app does require an internet connection since it's connected to the database to fetch the data

How we built it

At first, we discussed our ideas and problems that we have in life. Since we're still in lockdown, it is important to have fun activities to fill our free time. We listed all the ideas and voted the best and the most unique idea. We sketched the wireframes and storyboard of the application to show the flow of this game. Then, we decided to choose an android application(android studio) to build this application because all of the team members haven't learned java language before. We divided the workload to 2 people to set up the layout of the application and 1 person to work with the backend, using the provided services (my.SQL, AWS lambda and API).

Challenges we ran into

Firstly, all of us need to learn almost everything from the beginning with so little experience in this field. We had some issues when integrating between the front-end and the backend of the project but we overcame it by doing spikes and discussions. Some of us are also working so we need to allocate time and tasks properly. Synchronizing the server with the app caused us major issues and a lot of debugging.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Before this hackathon, only one of us is a software engineering student, while the others took other courses. This proves that if we want something big, we need to help each other, and by that, we can achieve almost anything!

Hoping to join again next time. Thanks!
