Inspiration

The current meme-world inspired us to create a homage to Rick Astley.

What it does

It sparks joy and brings back nostalgic memories of the Where's Waldo books. It also provides a short, entertaining challenge to all. In the case that the player cannot find Rick, there is a hint at the top of the screen. We utilized Visual Studios to create a website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Photoshop was also used to create the main image on the site.

Challenges we ran into

Our coding abilities are limited to software like Java and C#, but we wanted to build an interactive website for this Silly Hacks hackathon. Learning HTML and CSS within this short time period proved to be a challenge. Through the power of Google, we were able to pull together resources and complete our project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to make a site from scratch with an unfamiliar language. It makes us happy to create something uniquely ours.

What we learned

HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are powerful tools that allow flexible design and interaction. We also learned how to manage a project with such a close deadline.

What's next for Where's Rick?

We are thinking of adding more pages and levels of difficulty so we can immortalize Rick Astley's legacy. As we improve our HTML/CSS/JavaScript skills, we wish to refine the site to be more visually appealing.
