Silicone Salvage Terminal

This projects aims to combat the rising e-waste around the world. Due to time constraints, a Apple hardware problem diagnosis website was creation and advises whether to repair or dispose of e-waste.

Inspiration

E-waste is a huge waste of valuable materials like gold, cobalt, and other problems.

What it does

Because of the time limits, this takes a specific apple IPhone or Mac device and through a understandable and easy to use full website diagnoses your issue, impacts its severity, and lets you know of any further action that needs to be taken. It has built in options, and a API all to Gemini for more advanced problems for a custom solution. This can let you know if you need to recycle your device, or it is a easy fix and you can keep valuable materials out of landfills.

How we built it

I developed this using Google's antigravity IDE with smart code completion, and developed the API backend myself. I also developed the basic HTML website myself and some of the texts. To deal with the time constraints I had to use antigravity's built in agent(AI) feature to debug, and implement a full CSS framework as I had run out of time. I also used Gemni's AI model to help generate the tedious hardcoded error codes and responses, and antigravity to help with a little javascript.

Challenges we ran into

With only free API keys the responses are limited with only 5 allowed per account.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This is a very large and impressive project for a single day.

What we learned

I learned a lot about API keys, expanded my knowledge on html and CSS, and made a great project.

What's next for Silicone Salvage Terminal

Next I want to personally create a better CSS experience and recode some of the parts I had to automate to maximize quality if I had more time. To run this run the python script after adding the api key
