Inspiration
Do you ever think it's too loud around you? Ever find yourself looking for a quiet space? Like the night before a midterm when you need to get a few hours of quiet time with your study notes? Or right before an important meeting to gather your speaking points and prep your deck? Fear not. Because we have faced similar trials and tribulations, we have created Silencio to silence the noise.
What it does:
Silencio allows a user to conduct a self assessment to first establish a noise sensitivity profile. Then, Silencio suggests nearby locations which have ratings closest to a person's profile based on how others have rated that space. The user's baseline, as well as the community ratings are taken into account to recommend a list of possible places. To avoid an over-crowding paradox, we attempted to shuffle the top recommendations as a method of load balancing. If a quiet place is what you seek, Silencio is one way to find it.
As a first use-case we focused on a limited number of rooms inside the Cooper Union Hackathon venue, since we are not aware of any other app that can recommend spaces at that level of granularity. We look forward to testing this concept out!

- Starting with an idea and then narrowing it down to focus it for this Hackathon.
- Getting feedback from peers and mentors on feasibility in a short time frame.

What's next for Silencio
