🧠 Inspiration
With SMS phishing attacks costing over $12.5 billion annually, we saw a major gap in how users verify the authenticity of messages. People are bombarded with links and codes from banks, ecommerce platforms, and health agencies — but have no idea if they’re real or not.
I was inspired to create a privacy-first solution where users could verify messages without ever revealing personal data, using blockchain and AI — and that's how SigText was born.
🔍 What it does
SigText is a decentralized Web3 mobile first message verification platform that lets users:
- ✅ Verify signed SMS messages and QR codes
- ✅ Get real-time verification via blockchain
- ✅ Hear verification results through natural voice feedback
- ✅ Use the app offline — privacy is never compromised
No accounts, no data collection, no middlemen — just instant trust.
🛠️ How I have built it
I have built SigText entirely using Bolt.new, which enabled us to go from prototype to production quickly.
Technology Stack:
- Frontend: React Native (Expo), TypeScript, Expo Router
- Backend: Supabase for real-time data and auth
- Blockchain: Algorand via Nodely.io for cryptographic checks
- Voice AI: ElevenLabs for accessibility & feedback
- Security: Row-Level Security (RLS), no PII storage, end-to-end encryption
The app is modular, scalable, and built with performance and accessibility in mind.
🧱 Challenges we ran into
- 🔐 Integrating cryptographic verification with a friendly UI
- 🌐 Learning how to interact with the Algorand blockchain efficiently
- 🧪 Testing real-time voice synthesis across various devices
- 🔄 Ensuring the system works offline without storing any sensitive user data
Every challenge pushed me closer to a more secure and inclusive product.
