Inspiration

There are a lot of people with disabilities, and deaf is one of them, which is often neglected since people can't understand them at all, and they're usually neglected. With this tool, they can point their camera at a deaf person and at will translate what they're saying.

What it does

Real Time translation of Sign Language, You can just point the camera on anyone communicating with sign language and it can translate.

How we built it

I used Next.js for it, and Tensorflow handpose models

Challenges we ran into

Most challenging part was that training our own model would take time, so I was reading the documentation and realizing I can do that with simple ones, based on whether hands are curled or not.

What we learned

How powerful tensorflow and AI is, it can be used to empower Deaf People to express themselves.
