Inspiration
I was secretary of a club last year that had 60+ members crammed into a small room. We grappled with numerous "sign in" methods (handing our tickets for members to write their names in, pasting a url to a google form, passing around sign in sheets, writing everyone's name on the whiteboard, etc.), all to some degree of success. Signing in members to our events became tedious and inaccurate.
What it does
It is a full platform for users to create/join groups (like a club), create events (such as their weekly meeting or a volunteer opportunity), and sign in to events. The entire process is lightweight and streamlined. Aside from initial setup, there is no typing needed. Sign in is consolidated to a few taps.
How I built it
Used Swift for ~6 weeks.
Challenges I ran into
The iPhone simulator caching Firebase authentication data and making the app authentication confusing.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Learning Swift.
What I learned
Swift, XCode, and Firebase calls.
