Inspiration

Our team has always been passionate about making education accessible and enjoyable for everyone. We recognized the significance of American Sign Language (ASL) and its importance in promoting inclusivity. However, we noticed that learning resources were often static and unengaging. This inspired us to create "Sign & Remember", a platform that transforms ASL learning into a fun and interactive experience.

What it does

"Sign & Remember" is a web-based magic memory game that teaches users ASL in an engaging way. Through a series of games and challenges, users can learn new signs and test their memory . It's designed for children, but is equally effective for adults who want to learn ASL.

How we built it

We built "Sign & Remember" using a combination of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React and Nodejs for the frontend, ensuring a user-friendly interface and a smooth gaming experience.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges we faced was designing a system that could effectively teach ASL within the framework of a memory game. It was crucial to balance education and entertainment. Additionally, implementing the adaptive difficulty level was a complex task that required complex algorithms.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of creating a platform where learning and fun go hand in hand. We've received positive feedback from users who appreciate the interactive and engaging method of learning ASL. We're also proud of the adaptive difficulty feature, which provides a personalized learning experience for each user.

What we learned

Through this project, we've learned a lot about game design, user experience, and the technical aspects of web development. We've also gained a deeper understanding of ASL and the challenges of learning new languages. Most importantly, we've learned that when learning is made fun and engaging, it becomes a much more effective process.

What's next for Sign & Remember

We plan to expand "Sign & Remember" by adding more levels, signs, and games to our platform. We're also looking to integrate community features, like leaderboards and the ability to challenge friends. Finally, we hope to develop a mobile version of "Sign & Remember" to make ASL learning accessible anytime, anywhere.
