Inspiration
The desire to bring these divine figures to life digitally, while honoring Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage, guided our creative journey.
What it does
The project animates the ancient Sigiriya frescoes, giving viewers a meditative, immersive experience of the apsaras in their original grandeur. It transforms static heritage art into a gentle, cinematic visualization, inviting awe, reflection, and connection to history.
How we built it
We combined Flow for visual creation, ChatGPT for support, Suno for sound design, Veo for video assembly, and suno for audio. All elements were carefully designed or fully licensed to preserve authenticity and creative integrity.
Challenges we ran into
Animating ancient frescoes while maintaining historical accuracy was a significant challenge. Translating static two-dimensional art into fluid, lifelike motion required careful attention to detail, lighting, and movement while preserving the delicate aesthetics of the original Sigiriya paintings.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully brought 1,500-year-old apsaras to life on screen without compromising their cultural and artistic essence. The final output merges history, art, and technology, offering a unique, meditative viewing experience.
What we learned
The project taught us the importance of respecting historical art while exploring modern digital storytelling. It deepened our understanding of Sri Lankan heritage and the technical possibilities of merging AI, animation, and sound design.
