Sickly.app Mapping of Cases

Inspiration

Following the COVID-19 news and data since January, I noticed that we were reaching an inflection point and felt the need to apply my skills to help.

What it does

Sickly pulls the latest data on COVID-19 cases for country, state / region, and county levels. The data is displayed in an intuitive map and chart interface.

How I built it

Sickly was built using a JS stack: React interface, MongoDB database, FeathersJS for building the APIs. The mobile app is being built with React Native.

What's next for Sickly

We are now building a mobile app that focused on getting real-time, close-contact information of cases. This means a mobile app that does contact tracing through a mix of BLE, wifi SSIDs, and location data. The Sickly mobile app will allow users to report being sick and anonymously notify those who they have come in contact with that they are at risk
