Inspiration
Since COVID policies at Wellesley have been relaxed, students here don’t have the necessary means to stay sufficiently safe and obtain resources. Therefore, students must take matters in their own hands. We are all on a Discord server that offers a food/supplies delivery service—although it has some shortcomings. Since there are so many people on the server, some students may feel hesitant or embarrassed to request anything; and there aren’t many volunteers who actively help out either—perhaps for the same reason. That’s why we conceived SibSupport.
What it does
SibSupport is a network for Wellesley siblings to volunteer and manage illnesses, such as COVID, the common cold, or the flu, in a safe manner. It is an app that offers (more) anonymous and effective communication between students and other volunteers. People may request food or supplies and volunteers nearest to them will receive a notification, which they can accept or deny! Our goal is to help our fellow Sibs by fostering a safe and efficient environment.
How we built it
We decided to make a mock-up of the app using Figma, and used Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS, and Javascript for the website.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Making such a beautiful website!
What's next for SibSupport
Stay tuned for more in the future - we anticipate implementing an app!
