Inspiration My Inspiration was me (Kieatta) I know shy kids struggle with socializing with people and making friends like me so me and Kat came up with a idea to make a website for shy kids to get out their comfort zone and socialize with other kids
What it does It allows teachers to reward students for leaving their comfort zones and learn valuable experience socializing with peers. It also allows students to chat in an anonymous forum and contact teachers anonymously. We are aware of the bullying aspect which is why we designed a way to lose points for bullying. The forum in anonymous to force students to interact outside of technology and learn more about their classmates.
How we built it Since only one of us had coding experience we used a simple website editor in order to overcome this disadvantage.
Challenges we ran into As new coders we did not quite know how to link pages together or create log in's. However we were able to accomplish a lot.
Accomplishments that we're proud of The flow of the website makes sense and we are proud of the new coding that we learned with codehs.com
What we learned We learned how to write basic codes and how to analyze and combat every aspect that may be abused.
What's next for ShyCat I personally (Catherine) will continue to work and develop this website and figure out how to connect the buttons and create a log in.
