Inspiration
Mihang’o primary school in Nairobi has very few classes and the number of students is outstanding. The teacher to student ratio is 1:100 which makes it hard for students to get personalized attention from the teachers. Lack of resources is a huge problem and the teachers complain that they haven’t been trained on the new curriculum
What it does
ShuleEazy is an online school offering the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) for students and free mentorship sessions for teachers, parents, and students. We also have an SMS Platform where the students can learn for free.
How we built it
We initially conducted a research to understand the needs of the learners, teachers, and parents. We realized that there was so much lacking, in terms of resources, and skills to ensure an effective learning of subjects such as coding and music.
Challenges we ran into
We had a challenge estimating time and resources. There were also strict time constrains.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We built a solution that we believe could help students, teachers, and parents.
What we learned
In projects that are to be used by the society, it is always essential to understand their needs first before embarking on building the solution. Also, proper planning is essential for any project.
What's next for ShuleEazy
We aim at making school fun and accessible for every student. We aim at increasing the courses offered on our platform in the future.
