Challenges we ran into
Accomplishments that we're proud of
— We surpassed our own expectations of what we thought we could accomplish in a handful of hours. After attending many workshops yesterday and logistical issues this morning, we only had around 8 hours of focused project work, which we did not think would be enough to get the app working. — Implementing user submitted photo uploads into our application.
What we learned
We learnt about creating projects to meet a user need using SwiftUI. We got to implement functions that we had never used before, and practised going through the entire design process from ideation and brainstorming and initial sketches, to iteration and execution and debugging of the app. We also learnt how to spot and fix small mistakes that cause large issues, and will avoid making similar mistakes in the future because we know how to spot them.
What's next for Show Your Working (Out)!
Next, we will be implementing some additional functionality into the app: — A progress graphing feature that visually displays the progress from the pictures and information that was uploaded, as a line graph over time — An exercise and workout creator that allows users to include the exercises that they do/plan to do, as well as a workout creator that stores collections of workouts interleaved with rest periods in between sets. This will also have a graphing feature for the users to see how many times and how frequently they complete a certain workout, how many calories each workout burns, and visually display their improvement as they challenge themselves within that workout (e.g. a stacked bar graph with heights representing how many reps or exercise duration, and those bars will grow taller as users perform their workouts with increased intensity and difficulty). — A goal creator and tracker — display progress bars for number of workouts completed in a certain time period (day/week/month/year) and visually show users how close they are to meeting their targets.
