Inspiration

The story was born from burnout — the feeling of being groomed, judged, and put on display for others’ approval. “Showdog Therapy” became a metaphor for anyone who’s ever felt trapped by perfection or performance.

What it does

Showdog Therapy follows a champion showdog who refuses to be owned, controlled, or praised on command. It’s a short animated concept about reclaiming agency, saying no, and rediscovering freedom and self-worth.

How we built it

I built the image using Seedream 4.0 on Higgsfield, animated the sequences with Grok Imagine, and brought everything together through CapCut editing — blending realism with symbolic storytelling.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing humor and emotional depth was tough. I wanted the dog’s rebellion to feel empowering, not bitter. Capturing texture, emotion, and motion across different AI platforms required patience and experimentation.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating a story that speaks to freedom, boundaries, and mental health — in a way that’s visually unique and emotionally relatable. The animation resonates with people who’ve ever felt “trained” to please.

What we learned

That even the most polished performance hides exhaustion. True artistry comes from honesty, not obedience. I also learned how to better blend AI tools for cohesive cinematic storytelling.

What's next for Showdog Therapy | No More Performing | Camera Off

Expanding this into a short film series featuring characters from different walks of life who are breaking free from systems of control that is trapping — from models to musicians to AI beings themselves.
