Inspiration

We have always wanted to be able to bend against each other as young sibilings- And then the day has come when Meta released the Quest 3 which supports Mixed reality- and we knew right away that this type of games is EXACTLY what Mixed Reality was made for.

What it does

You can train your earth bending skills in a training arena and shoot targets, while pulling out rocks from the groud. There's also a player against player feature (2 people with quest 3 in the same room) but it's not fully supported yet.

How we built it

We used the passthrough feature and the meta interaction SDK to capture the hand gestures- that way we know which hand pose and figure poses we're making- to make sure the right bending technique is triggered.

Challenges we ran into

Mainly making the player vs player work in the same room- which we still didn't manage to do, but we will- it will make our dream come true.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The main developer of this project, Jennie, has started developing with unity (and going into game dev in general) only 2 months ago- so learning all of this from scratch and getting to this result (while working a 9-5) was a great achievement, but also - the earth bending expirience got better with some tweaks we added and that's great too.

What we learned

To code with C# and unity :] A LOT of cool things meta does for it's developer- like thebuilding tool are great. And to ALWAYS use Git :')

What's next for Show Me Your Power

  1. Enabling the player against player mode
  2. Adding more features to the earth bending skill (like pulling a wall from the ground to defent yourself, etc)
  3. Adding a nice tutorial, which we currently lack
  4. Adding levels- and making your power greater which each level
  5. Adding the other bending skills- water, air, fire
  6. Adding an option to play online against people (who are not in the room with you)
  7. Adding support to stream the game to a phone to capture it (not like in the Meta Quest app, but to capture it from the side)
