Inspiration
It is a struggle to shovel snow, something no Canadian can avoid. It is essentially a unity for all Canadians as we face this snow dilemma everyday.
What it does
We built a game where you shovel snow off your driveway while avoiding obstacles (obstacles not implemented as of yet but it is a concept!).
How we built it
We used java and javaFX to build this game.
Challenges we ran into
It was very difficult in making a moving sprite character, the difficulty here was that we had to selectively update pixels on the screen during each movement and change on the board.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to add self composed music to the game which was something we had never done before.
What we learned
This was the first time we worked with sprites and music. It was an amazing experience to learn sprite management and implementing it to a game of this scale.
What's next for ShovelCity
We want to add bosses and obstacles to the game to create difficulty levels. Furthermore, we want to add levels to the game.
