Inspiration
Shotgun Survivors takes cues from Vampire Survivors and Megabonk, blending addictive progression with chaotic action. I set out to capture the thrill of surviving just one more wave—while bringing that experience into the social, immersiveness of Horizon Worlds.
What It Does
Players fight to survive as long as possible, leveling up, earning upgrades, and unlocking new weapons with every run. The game combines PvE and PvP combat to create dynamic, unpredictable matches where strategy, skill, and luck collide.
How it was built
Developed using the Worlds Desktop Editor, Shotgun Survivors pushes the platform’s technical limits through creative scripting (such as the 2D sprite enemeies), optimized systems, and fast-paced, replayable gameplay.
Challenges
I faced engine limitations, performance bottlenecks, and world streaming inconsistencies that demanded careful optimization and testing to ensure consistent gameplay across sessions.
Accomplishments
I’m proud to have built a stable, replayable game with a strong balance between PvE and PvP. Each session feels unique, and the gameplay loop delivers both challenge and reward for PvE and PvP. I believe Shotgun Survivors stands among other titles.
What I Learned from this Project
I learned a lot of advanced optimization for the Worlds Desktop Editor—especially in physics, movement, and UI—and how to integrate AI tools into a professional workflow to boost efficiency and creativity.
What’s Next
My next goals include adding new weapons, more gameplay variety, and expanded progression systems like daily challenges and achievements to keep players coming back and getting better retention.
