We went and asked shoppers why they were here at Westfield and discovered that a large proportion knew what they wanted in terms of item type and style/colour but not where they can find examples to try on.
They had to visit all the shops they thought might stock the wanted item. Using the Shopstyle API we can search and display the relevant clothing results (limited to brands available in Westfield) and more importantly where in Westfield they can be found.
What makes us unique is that we have chosen a semantic search model to create a personal and more natural method of communicating with the user. Something closer to an interaction with a concierge.
"Welcome to Westfield. How may I help you today?"
“I want to buy a dress for a wedding”
Going forward we would like to see this on the information terminals giving information on dining and film as well as clothing.
