Inspiration

We wanted to make a short game to match the shortness of our time limit while still feeling like a complete game.

What it does

This is a simple, point and click murder mystery game that puts you on the spot to solve it.

How we built it

Using Unity Editor version 6000.044f1. All systems within (dialogue, interaction triggers, room changes, etc.) are all custom-built.

Challenges we ran into

Our initial attempts were unsuccessful, as we had hoped to use something other than a game engine to challenge ourselves. Technical difficulties drove us to switch to Unity halfway through development.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We finished making a complete game within the time limit for the very first time.

What we learned

It's important to keep options open and be flexible with how you work. We would not have been able to finish if we couldn't change direction in our workflow.

What's next for Short Change

Considering the game is largely complete, very little. Improvements to visuals could be refined further, although it is unnecessary.
