Inspiration
We believe that the future of e-commerce will be fast and interactive.
What it does
As the mobile market is increasing, we believe that the future of mobile e-commerce should follow this trend. The idea of our project was to build a simple mobile focused e-commerce, where the user can easily shop for products in small screens. With all that in mind we decided to provide an application that displays one product at a time on the screen and allows the user to swipe it left and right (discarding or adding to the shopping cart); as products are added or discarded the application chooses the next product that best fits the user buying trend and displays it.
How we built it
We decided to use stat-of-the-art technology and build our app using MEAN Stack (MongoDB, Express, Angular, Node.js) also HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into
We had a lot of difficult because we decide to use technology that was very new to us. We also had trouble with time, being a hackton we had very limited time to work with and thus had to cut some features off.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We liked a lot our idea and really believe its concept to be a nice and innovative way for shopping some kinds of products. We are also proud of our back-end and UX Design; the API we defined is very well built and we didn't had problems using it.
What we learned
We learned a lot about the technologies we used in the project, especially in web development. We also learned something about time management: we had more ideas than we could fit in our time and had to cut some things out.
What's next for ShopifySwipe
The next steps for ShopifySwipe would be to finish the implementation of the front-end so we could use all of our features. Then we would really like to improve our suggestion algorithm, since now its very simple.
