Shopify - Roblox Edition

Shopify - Roblox Edition is a game where customers can virtually try on and buy clothes and have them shipped to their door irl, and merchants can form a better relationship with customers.

Inspiration

Our inspiration came from considering what we would like to see online shopping grow into as customers.

What it does

Shopify - Roblox Edition allows for merchants to display their Shopify as a virtual store with a focus on marketing and customer interactions. It allows customers to virtually try on clothes, purchase these clothes with Robux for their avatar, and complete a Shopify order to get the same clothing shipped to their door.

How we built it

We built the game utilizing a Shopify store we created, Shopify API, Roblox Studio and Lua scripting. We used the Shopify Storefront API to create a checkout request to purchase a free shirt after verifying that the Roblox purchase had occurred, allowing a real-life version of the shirt to be sent to the customer.

Challenges we ran into

The technologies we were working with were firsts for us, so we faced the challenges that came with learning as we created!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The try on feature in-game. The ability to complete a purchase in Roblox utilizing the cross interaction between Roblox and Shopify.

What we learned

We learned all the new technologies applied and much more about game development!

What's next for Shopify - Roblox Edition

Shopify - Roblox Edition serves as a template for merchants on Shopify to customize, adding an entirely new audience and purchasing method to their shop with an element of fun!
