About the Project
Running a successful ecommerce business today is no longer just about launching a Shopify store. Merchants spend heavily on advertisements across multiple platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, but most small and medium businesses still struggle to answer one very important question: “Are we actually profitable?”
This challenge inspired us to build Shopify Analytics & Marketing Hub, a centralized platform that connects ecommerce operations with marketing intelligence to provide real-time business insights.
Our goal was simple: -Help Shopify merchants understand their true profit and loss -Eliminate the need to switch between multiple dashboards -Turn scattered marketing data into actionable decisions
Inspiration
The idea came from observing how ecommerce store owners constantly jump between: -Shopify Analytics -Meta Ads Manager -TikTok Ads -Google/YouTube Analytics -Excel sheets for profit calculations
Most merchants can see sales, but they cannot accurately measure: -Real ROI -Ad performance by channel -Customer acquisition cost -Net profitability after ad spend We realized there was a gap between marketing data and financial clarity. That became the foundation of our project.
What it does
How we built it
We developed a unified analytics ecosystem that integrates directly with Shopify and multiple social media advertising platforms.
Core Integrations -Shopify API -Facebook & Instagram Ads -TikTok Ads -YouTube Analytics Features -Centralized analytics dashboard -Profit & loss tracking -Marketing campaign performance analysis -Traffic source comparison -ROI calculation -Sales attribution
We designed the system architecture to synchronize data from different APIs into one dashboard where merchants can monitor their business performance in real time.
The platform calculates profitability using a simplified business formula: Profit=Revenue−(Ad Spend+Operational Costs) This helps users instantly identify whether their campaigns are generating actual profit or creating hidden losses.
Challenges we ran into
Biggest challenges i faced while developing it
- Each channels tracks campaign differently.
- Shopify sales data does not matches with profit and Loss.
- Real-time analytics performance
- Data visualization and dashboard scalability
Accomplishments that we're proud of
