ShopeCut

Inspiration

The inspiration was simple, me and my friend struggled to edit videos we submit for hackathons or demo's so why not make a tool that edit videos based on what you provide.. that's the whole idea

What it does

It takes clips you recorded and finds a creative way to plug those clips together and generate a good video, with captions, color grading, cutting out the bad parts of the video too and more.

How we built it

The desktop app is mainly powered by flutter so people can install and run on their PC, using Gemini Agents (3+ agents) analysis agent, critic agent, editing agent and some others

Challenges we ran into

Having to make the Agents actually the agents work in tandem, and then making the agents actually creative, it proved hard, so alot of effort went into that especially cus the agent can pick transitions and other stlying for the videos, had to do alot of online research and data analysis to come up with something fair.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The fact that we actually did our demo video with our own project 😂, it was rushed, but our app made it far easier than manually editing the video to submit.. the demo could have been better, but it was a rushed query so we could submit on time, but it came out much better than we could have done in the small timeframe..

What we learned

1. Starting a business is NOT easy.
2. Having to manage user expectations.
3. Planning is key

What's next for ShopeCut

Alot is next, ShopeCut is gonna have so much more than it does now. Better planning, better video templating, better styling, captions and transitions, easier pricing plans and much more.
