Inspiration
Imagine if your favourite bookstore closes soon or your so-loved vintage shop stops operating even after the coronavirus ends because they run into financial problems. And how about that tea-shop you loved so much and would visit few times a month to buy your favourite tea. How about that vinyl store in your neighbourhood that always has what you're looking for?
The rapidly escalating coronavirus outbreak is hitting businesses hard, and most small businesses are on the verge of closing and many are expected to default on debts within weeks.
Coronavirus outbreak apart, small business usually don't have the resources to sell their services online. Creating a website with an e-shop costs a lot of money, and there are no existing platforms that would be targeted for smaller businesses.
What it does
Now imagine UberEats , but instead of food you can have your favourite stuff delivered to you from your favourite shops. ShopDon'tStop is a mobile app that allows small business owners, regardless of their products, to sell their products through our app, by creating a customised shop within the app. The customers can shop the products directly from the comfort of their home, thus minimising the social interactions and supporting local businesses (with or without a pandemic in the world).
Bonus effect
The bonus of this idea is that the delivery will be done through taxi drivers and taxi service partners, thus helping the ride-sharing and taxi service industries to recover some of the losses due to significant drop of demand.
Challenges we ran into
The negotiations and building partnerships are taking time.
