Inspiration
Our inspiration came because of our collective laziness in inputting new classes every new semester into our Google calendar. So we thought why not make it simpler? Thus we spent weeks prepping and 48 hours coding.
What it does
It takes a PDF file of a university-provided course list (for now specifically for our university at APU), parses the information, and displays it on a calendar. It then takes the parsed class schedule and imports it to Google Calendar as a new calendar.
How we built it
We built it using both Typescript and React.
Challenges we ran into
Getting the Google Calendar API to work was extremely time-consuming.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud to have made this project and made it easier for our friends here at APU to create their own class schedules.
What we learned
We learned a great deal—mainly Google APIs, Typescript syntax, and dividing tasks between team members.
What's next for Shoganai
We want to keep improving on Shoganai.
