What Shimio does
Shimio turns a photo and a dance reference video into a new dance video. Choose the character you want to animate, add the moves you want to recreate, and download the finished MP4 for sharing on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, or with friends.
The idea
A dance reference already shows the timing and movement you have in mind. Shimio lets you use that reference directly, so you can focus on choosing a character and a dance instead of writing a detailed motion prompt.
How it works
- Add a clear photo of the person or character you want to animate.
- Upload a dance reference video.
- Generate the dance video and track it in your video collection.
- Download the finished MP4 when it is ready.
How it is built
Shimio uses TypeScript, React, and TanStack Start for the web application. Cloudflare Workers runs the application, D1 stores task and account records, and R2 stores completed videos. A signed-in video collection keeps generation progress and downloads together.
Engineering focus
Video generation continues after the initial request. The application tracks task state, archives completed files, and checks task ownership before serving private downloads. Keeping these steps connected is a central part of the implementation.
