Inspiration

India is losing traditional crafts. Master artisans with decades of experience struggle to find apprentices, while young people interested in learning these crafts don't know where to start. This disconnect is causing centuries-old heritage to disappear forever.

What it does

ShilpiConnect is a web platform that bridges this gap by:

  • Allowing artisans to register their craft expertise
  • Enabling learners to find master artisans near them
  • Using smart matching algorithms to connect the right people
  • Displaying platform impact statistics

How we built it

  • Backend: Python Flask
  • Database: SQLite
  • Frontend: HTML, CSS, Bootstrap 5
  • Smart matching algorithm with weighted scoring
