Inspiration

The idea for this project stemmed from a personal challenge I faced in finding the right educational institution that matched specific needs.

What It Does

Shiksha Finder is a platform that:

  • Helps students discover the best educational institutions around them.
  • Allows users to explore the quality of education offered by institutions.
  • Uses a chatbot powered by Azure AI Studio to answer queries based on descriptions provided by educational institutions.

How We Built It

The project was developed using the following technologies:

  • Frontend: Next.js
  • Backend: Supabase
  • AI Integration: Azure AI Studio
  • Storage: Azure Blob Storage
  • Image Optimization: wsrv.nl
  • Domain Management & Frontend Hosting Cloudflare

Challenges We Faced

Building Shiksha Finder was not without obstacles:

  • Encountered errors in NPM libraries, which required extensive debugging.
  • Struggled with CORS policy issues from the GPT-4 API endpoint.

Accomplishments We're Proud Of

We are proud to have:

  • Been selected by Microsoft for the Startups Founders Hub, which has allowed us to leverage OpenAI's capabilities and Azure Blob Storage.

What We Learned

Through this project, we gained invaluable experience, including:

  • Next.js development
  • Site registration and verification with Google
  • Integrating Google AdSense
  • Deploying the GPT-4o model using Azure AI Studio

What's Next for Shiksha Finder

  • Expanding our reach to connect more educational institutions.
  • Currently, we have around 15 real-life institutions actively connected.
