ShieldLink is an advanced IoT-based women’s safety solution built around a smart SOS ring and a powerful cloud-connected mobile application. The wearable ring includes a hidden emergency button and gesture-activated triggers, allowing a user to send an SOS alert instantly even if they cannot access or unlock their phone. When activated, the ring sends a secure, HMAC-signed webhook containing real-time GPS coordinates, battery status, and event details to the Base44 backend. The system immediately creates an alert, offers a 30-second cancel window to avoid false triggers, and if not cancelled, automatically notifies the user’s emergency contacts through SMS, push notifications, and optional voice calls. As the emergency continues, the ring and app continuously send location updates every few seconds, enabling real-time tracking with live movement shown on an in-app map. ShieldLink also includes features such as a Safety Timer that triggers SOS if a user fails to check in, Guardian Mode for trusted contacts to monitor the user live, a Find My Ring tool to locate the device, travel mode with route-sharing, and device health monitoring for battery, connectivity, and GPS accuracy. All sensitive data is secured using encrypted storage, API key protection, and signed device messages. The system is designed to function even if the phone is taken away or loses internet connectivity, thanks to NB-IoT/GSM connectivity from the ring itself. ShieldLink offers a seamless, discreet, and reliable safety experience, making it highly suitable for women, students, solo travelers, and elderly individuals. Its combination of wearable hardware, cloud automation, real-time location tracking, and multi-layer emergency escalation makes it a unique and powerful personal safety ecosystem.
