What it does

A one stop solution designed to automate the benefits claim processing of the veteran. Our application is built in such a way to eliminate all of the paper works, automating most of the manual tasks and making it easier to maintain

How we built it

Our application is built with pega’s case management, integrated with onespan for esigning and VA lighthouse api for claims processing following Pega Express Methodology.

Finding a secure platform where E-signing can be done digitally

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Integrated with onespan for esigning documents Signed documents attached back to the case once the signing is completed. Through onespan we are able to deliver our document, get it esigned securely and the process is well recorded in the evidence summary. With the help of callback events received we attach the signed documents along with the evidence summary back to the case.

Uploading docs to claims API In order to provide a secure, efficient, and tracked alternative to mail or fax for VA benefit claim document submissions. Documents are uploaded directly to the VBA so they can be processed as quickly as possible. This also provides submission status updates until documents are successfully established for VBA claim processing, eliminating the need for users to switch between systems to manually check whether documents have been successfully uploaded.

Email listener To attach the proof submitted back to the case In order to eliminate the process of switching to email to view and verify the proofs, we have used email listener to listen and attach the proofs submitted to the case as and when it is received

Form auto filling and generating eform To Automate the manual process of filling documents we have mapped the details which we have already collected in the case to the document and generating it to get it signed

Integrating pega with onespan, knowledge on eform wizard.

What's next for Shield+

We are planning to extend the solution to make it available across the channels, automating the verification process through OCR and develop eligibility checker so that veterans can know whether they are eligible for the claim before applying.
