Inspiration In today’s digital and physical world, women face increasing safety challenges ranging from phishing scams and fake online identities to unsafe real-world situations. Existing awareness methods are often passive and not engaging. We aimed to transform safety education into an interactive experience where users actively participate, make decisions, and learn through realistic scenarios in a safe environment.
What it does SheShield is an interactive, game-based safety simulator that helps users respond to real-life threats. Players face scenarios like suspicious messages, unknown contacts, and real-world safety situations. The system presents scenarios, allows decision-making (A/B/C), provides instant feedback with risk evaluation, and tracks score and progression. This helps users learn safe vs unsafe choices in a practical and engaging way.
How we built it We built SheShield as a web application using HTML and CSS for the frontend and Python (Flask) for the backend. The system takes user input, processes it through backend logic, generates a scenario with choices, and displays real-time feedback. We implemented scoring, levels, dynamic scenarios, and interactive buttons to enhance the gameplay experience. AI integration is designed to support dynamic scenario generation.
Challenges we ran into Ensuring scenarios were realistic and meaningful was challenging. Maintaining consistent game flow while handling dynamic responses required careful design. Time constraints forced us to prioritize core features and deliver a stable MVP. Balancing simplicity with strong real-world impact was also a key challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of We successfully built a fully interactive safety simulation game within limited time. We created a system with strong social impact focused on women’s safety. The project combines education and engagement through gamification and delivers a polished working prototype with scoring, levels, and dynamic scenarios.
What we learned We learned how to design and integrate intelligent decision systems, structure meaningful logic flows, and build user-focused interactive applications under time pressure. We also understood the importance of combining technology with social impact and gained full-stack development experience.
What's next for “SheShield: AI Survival Simulator” We plan to add voice interaction, expand scenario diversity, develop a mobile-friendly version, enhance AI for personalized feedback and risk prediction, and introduce more advanced interactive features for continuous learning.
