Inspiration

Inspired to push boundaries of humanitarian efforts for Ukrainian refugees & victims of war by using decentralized, trustless & immutable technologies such as Blockchain & IPFS. Shelter was built during Kyiv Tech Summit held in a bomb shelter in Kyiv, Ukraine on September, 2022 where it was awarded by Protocol Labs on its impactful usage of IPFS. Since then, Shelter is slowly & continuously being built to have the necessary functions to be a full scale web3 app.

What it does

Shelter is a blockchain based ticketing/donation system: Enabling Tokenization of Assets & Services for public good.

Challenges

Web3 & blockchain applications at its current state lack infrastructure for push notification so it became a challenge to notify users when someone interacted or transacted with them on-chain.

Solution

By integrating Courier API Shelter users will now be able to be notified automatically when someone interacted with them on-chain. This include:

  • User Registration
  • Creating a donation pool
  • Someone Interacted on their donation pool
  • Taking items from a donation pool
  • Donating items to a donation pool

What's next for Shelter & Courier API Integration

The current notifications are simple & straight-forward. In the future I would like to send more complex user notifications for the following:

  • Ticket Redemption notification
  • Expiring ticket notification
  • Return Asset notification
  • DAO voting notification
