📚 Welcome to Shelflife

As Netflix, Spotify Premium, and other subscription-based services rise in popularity, Shelflife helps to minimize the subscription headache for users. Shelflife takes on our own shared pet peeve of not being able to track when all our subscriptions expire!

Shelflife provides a shelf where users can add their subscriptions to and be notified through the app when a subscription is about to expire (a subscription's "shelflife"!). Shelflife is built through Kivy using Python!

Challenges we ran into

Our team is made of 2 high-schoolers and 2 university students, so we're all running on slightly different schedules. We planned out check-in times to counter this, but communication is still rough when you're only communicating virtually!

Accomplishments and Learnings

We're all first-time hackers, so being able to put together a project in such a short amount of time is definitely something we are proud of. Our high school teammates learned how to use GitHub, Kivy, and to build wireframes on Canva and Figma while our university teammates learned how to use Kivy and gained more general backend and frontend experience!

Next Steps for Shelflife

We hope to add more integrations into the app, such as logging into subscription accounts through Shelflife, and adding email and text notifications for subscription expiry.
