As university students, we’ve lived through the challenge of figuring out our finances first-hand and it is not as easy as they say. Growing up in African households, most of us were never taught financial literacy, and the education system rarely prepares us for managing money in real life. Now, as we prepare to enter the job market, many young women don’t even know how to budget or spend their first salary responsibly.
That’s why we created SheFund , a platform that transforms Africa’s $50B chamas into AI-powered wealth hubs designed for young women. Our app helps women grow their savings by investing in money market funds (MMFs), stocks, and other safe financial instruments, while also offering a financial literacy hub that teaches practical money skills.
Through an AI chatbot, users receive personalized guidance in simple, relatable language, and they can even create linked accounts for younger loved ones or friends , ensuring that financial literacy spreads across generations.
SheFund is more than just an app. It’s about digitizing financial sisterhood, turning group savings into wealth-creation engines, and empowering young African women to step into the job market financially confident and independent.
