Inspiration
My inspiration was only types of women empowerment and when I observed and compared it with the present scenario I found a mismatch. Due to the high use of social media cyberbullying is increased. And not everyone is enough strong to stand against it. So my inspiration for content was the United Nations website and for helpline numbers to I collected data from it.
What it does
It shows how to deal with cyberbullying and helpline numbers of different countries. It even defines existing types of women empowerment and provides some good resource names and links. It asks for donations and a payment gateway is integrated into it. It asks to fill a membership form and in the same, it provides an opportunity for volunteering, membership, and sharing your story. It publishes blogs of women who inspire every one of us.
How we built it
It was built using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and JS. IDE - vscode Version control - git Deployed on - Github
Challenges we ran into
I had few problems choosing a theme because every second website about women empowerment talks about only 5 main points, that is, social, economic, political, health, and education empowerment. Although there are topics like women's mental health, menstrual health I loved to focus more on cyberbullying because it causes stress and can spoil someone's whole life.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud of the number of helplines I have provided on the website plus I have identified cyberbullying as an area that needs some light by everyone. Yes, there exist so many websites on it but I have not seen any which relate it with empowerment.
What we learned
I learned how to add animations, how to separate content, and how to make a good UI. Plus I used little JS which was also a new thing to learn practically for the first time. I learned about time management, listening, analysis of requirements,s and a complete step-by-step approach to solving big problems to smaller ones.
What's next for SheforShe
I will add some analytical and statstical data to it, make it more functional and useful.
