Inspiration

Planning a trip often means opening dozens of tabs, comparing hotels, checking maps, and calculating budgets. It’s time-consuming and overwhelming.

We built SheepTrip because we believe travel planning should be as simple as describing your trip once and letting AI do the rest.

What it does

SheepTrip is an AI travel copilot that creates a personalized travel plan from a single prompt.

For example:

“I’m going to Tokyo for five days in September with a budget of 3000 AUD.”

SheepTrip then:

• Generates a day-by-day itinerary.
• Recommends attractions and travel routes.
• Suggests hotels based on user preferences.
• Estimates accommodation, transport, and food costs.

Everything is presented in one simple travel plan.

Why it matters

Planning a trip shouldn’t take hours of research.

Instead of searching across multiple websites, users simply describe their trip and receive an organized travel plan in seconds.

How we built it

• Frontend: Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS
• Backend: FastAPI
• AI: OpenAI GPT-5.6
• Database: PostgreSQL (Supabase)
• Deployment: Vercel

Challenges

Our biggest challenge was prompt engineering. We spent a lot of time refining prompts to generate useful and consistent travel plans while keeping the interface simple.

What we learned

We learned that the real value of AI isn’t just generating an itinerary—it’s helping users plan trips faster and with less effort.

What’s next

Our vision is to make SheepTrip an AI travel companion.
