I have been toying with creating a video for this song for some time, but was stuck on how to make it feel different to a previous post grunge rendition. Then stumbled onto OpenartAi's music video feature and thought I would see what it came up with. The story boarding looked promising, however character consistency was not and it only followed a generic performance style format, there was little relevance to the lyrics.
Once I watched the initial output I realized there was definitely potential, but like I said, character consistency fell short and then I discovered lipsyncing was very hit and miss. So I salvaged what I could, recreated consistent shots for my character - Chaise Aderyn - and included his muse to enact parts of the song and carry the message home.
In the end some of the lipsync from the original output was useable, however most was not. It does, however provide me with a blend of modern and fantasy settings, where Chaise's look varies enough to align with the theme of the novel - he is a bard with a splintered soul that manifests across multiple realities. So in the end the effect is quite profound, at least for anyone who actually ends up reading the novel when it is released next year.
The entire project was done inside the Openartai portal, utilizing Kling 2.5, Vidu Q1 elements, Seedance, Openart's Character feature and song generation in Suno. The video timeline was put together in Davinci Resolve.
